 Mobile Content Portal
Bluefish provides a complete handheld content portal solution.
We enable you to both create content for the handheld as well
as automatically generate content updates from one or more
data sources. Most importantly we enable you to deliver the
content to your users handheld via infrared, Bluetooth, GPRS,
802.11b and desktop synchronization tools. Our software provides
a flexible platform that can be customized for the needs of
specific applications.
The Bluefish Portal Infrastructure is comprises several parts.
You may be interested in creating basic content for a handheld
or you may want to use our full suite to deliver the latest
news or allow transactions to be generated from the handheld
using our e-Commerce engine. Following is more detail on the
various parts that make up our portal solution.
Handheld Client Software
Our handheld viewer provides the basis for our portal infrastructure.
At only 70k it takes up le less than a quarter the memory
of most handheld viewers on the market and yet has significantly
more functionality. With all the standard features it also
enables vector mapping, extensive database functionality,
support and localization for mutliple languages, beaming of
content between handhelds and the highest content compression
levels available.
The Bluefish viewer was licensed in 2003 by palmOne for use
in its Addit application and handheld-based documentation.
It now ships with the Zire 31 and Zire 72 products and will
ship on more palmOne handhelds in the future.
Network Manager
The Bluefish Network Manager hosts and manages your content.
It can work seamlessly with your current web based content
and databases. The Network Manager is designed to streamline
information delivery through wireless data networks or desktop
conduits while incorporating a high level of security and
simple administrative tools.
Bluefish Software Development Kit
The Bluefish Software Development Kit (BSDK) makes it easy
to turn HTML, XML, various database formats and Word documents
into handheld applications or files. Content can be scraped
from websites and databases automatically. Our widely deployed
conduit and wireless infrastructure allows you to quickly
and easily deploy your content to your employees or customers.
Bluefish Deployments
Bluefish has licensed its software to hundreds of companies
including, PalmOne, Sony, ePocrates, The Medical Letter and
ASCO just to name a few.
